In the gap-filling tasks, students work in pairs and have to work together to complete their respective worksheets.

<strong>How we get snow and sleet - Reading comprehension</strong>
Students read the text and answer 5 questions. They look for the answers in the text, tick correct statements and write full answers.
Gap-filling activity – Students work in pairs to complete the missing information in Worksheet A and Worksheet B.
Partner A will have worksheet A and Partner B will have worksheet B.
In order to complete their worksheets, the students will have to read together to fill in the missing words on their respective worksheets.
<strong>How we get hail - Reading comprehension</Strong>
Students read the text and answer 5 questions. Students are required to look for the answers in the text, tick true or false statements and say why, write full answers and make a list.
Gap-filling activity – Students work in pairs to complete the missing information in Worksheet A and Worksheet B.
As above, Partner A will have worksheet A and Partner B will have worksheet B.

<strong>Describing Clouds (1 page)</strong>
Student describe pairs of clouds to show how they are different from each other, and then draw/sketch a picture. They can sketch from memory or look up images of these clouds in non-fiction books or on the computer.
For example, on the worksheet, students will see that the ‘Cirrus and Nimbostratus’ clouds are sub-headings; the ‘Cumulus and Cumulonimbus’ are sub-headings and the ‘Cirrocumulus and Altocumulus’ are sub-headings.
Once the worksheet is completed, students can see the difference between the sets of clouds.
<strong>What Am I? Worksheets (2 pages) + Answer Sheets</strong>
There are 5 clouds containing descriptions.
Students read the description in each cloud and write the name of the cloud that is described and then draw a picture of it.
An Answer Sheet is provided with these worksheets.

9 Worksheets: The more able students can complete the whole page worksheets. They write one or more facts about the instrument shown. Their writing should contain a lot more detail which they can obtain from the factsheets.
Activity 1 - Cut out lined strips with picture of weather instrument: For students who can write one or two sentences about the weather instrument. Write the instrument and a sentence about it.
Activity 2 – Read and match, cut and glue activity: Each strip of paper has a picture of a weather instrument and on a separate bit of paper is a description of an instrument. Students read the description of an instrument and then glue it to the correct picture on the strip of paper.

Worksheet on homophones:
Section A: 7 sentences - students choose and write in the correct word so that the sentence makes sense.
Section B: The words that are not used in Section A, students make up 7 sentences of their own.
E.g. Section A - Saint Patrick is the patron saint of ___________. (Island/Ireland)
Section B - 'Island ’ would be incorrect if used in the above sentence, so in this section students make up a sentence with ‘island’.
Text 1: The Evil Black Pig of Monaghan (St Patrick is challenged to get rid of the pig which causes fear and destruction in the village) contains 4 paragraphs Sections A to D. Students can work in pairs to read the story and then answer the 12 questions.

Differentiated Activity 1 - Lower Ability children cut out and sequence three pictures and write a simple sentence below each picture called St. Patrick and the Serpent.
Middle Ability - Cut out sentences and glue below the correct pictures to tell the story of St Patrick and the Serpent .
High Ability - Retell legend of St Patrick and the Serpent. First they draft and then write out neatly.

The presentation describes myths and legends and that sometimes myths and legends overlaps. Children learn about some of the mythical stories that are passed down from one generation to the next, e.g. why the leek and the dragon are symbols of Wales and the miracles St David carried out, e.g. making the blind see, why David is standing on a hill with a dove on his shoulder, the legend of the boy who tried to steal pigeons, the legend of the corpse candle.
Listening and speaking during the presentation.
The flexible lesson plan guides you through the presentation or you can just play the presentation which children interact with.
Differentiated gap-filling worksheets:
Worksheet 1 - Children use the words in the box to fill in the gaps.
Worksheets A and B: - Children work in twos and collaborate to complete their worksheet as each child has information the other children needs.
There is a teacher’s copy for the worksheets A and B.
Early finishers - During the presentation the children are given the opportunity to retell one or two of the legends they like best which they oral retell to the class.
When they come to do the worksheets, they recount one of the stories either using a worksheet with story boxes or write a short narrative and draw a picture

This is a St David’s Day theme product which contains five different maths activities.
Optional preparation: You can cut out the puzzle pieces and have children assemble them or get the children to cut out the sheets of puzzle pieces and they can assemble and glue onto a separate sheet of paper or into their workbooks.
Content:
Differentiated puzzle pieces for children to match up numbers 1 to 10 and 11 to 20. The puzzles are in colour and b/w.
Match up numbered gold coins with a picture of a dragon in the centre by drawing lines to the correct tens frame or twenty frame.
Count gold coins and draw line to match with the tens frames.
Bar Chart Worksheet in colour/b&w with differentiated questions: Worksheet 1 with 8 questions and Worksheet 2 with 11 questions (with Answer Sheets).
Pictures: dragon, daffodils, leek and traditional Welsh black hat.

Word Search with solution plus associated tasks
Worksheets 1 and 2: Children list an activity in each of the baubles. Children who need support can draw pictures to go with their list. The more able children describe their list in more detail using complete sentences and then draw a picture.
Worksheet 3: For able writers – You may wish to give this work to more able writers to write about what people do during Advent and/or write how they prepare for Christmas.
Early Finishers:
Worksheet 4 with Answer Key: For this activity children only tick the pictures that relate to Advent. The second part of the worksheet is for children to complete each of the four sentences in their own words but using the verbs in the box.
Word Search: Children can work in twos to find the words in the grid. When the word search is completed there is a ready-made worksheet for the children to put the words in the word search grid into alphabetical order.

52 cards - Just shuffle and lay face down on table, players take turns to take a card to read and chose their answer. They must choose one or the other.
You don’t have to use all the cards - you can differentiate and select the cards that you want the children to use.

• Read, Trace, Color Worksheets (x10) – Children read and trace over the sentence and then color in.
Optional: You can make a booklet for each child by stapling the edges.
• Follow the Path Activity (x2) – Children use a crayon at the start of a pathway. They can use different colors to make a rainbow path.
• Christmas Story Reading on PowerPoint – You can read the story aloud first and then ask children to summarize the story. You can then give out the various differentiated activities for children to do.
• Worksheet – Children draw on the gift boxes three presents they would give to Jesus
After reading the Christmas story, children can complete the following sequencing activities. Either you or the children can cut out the sequencing wheel and cover.
• Story Wheel Sequencing – Children cut out the pictures and glue them in order in each of the segments to tell the Christmas story. When completed and colored in, they can recount the story to someone else.
• Alternatively, children can cut out the pictures and place each picture over the numbered boxes in order to sequence the pictures using the worksheet provided.
